At any rate, if you're using oil-based pencils like Prismacolor, you want to start with the darkest color on the outside perimeter. You can use Gamsol(I use baby oil)and a torillion to blend the darker color(s)down. That is kind of the opposite of the Copic approach -- lighter to darker.
